Life Out There In the Dot Com Jungle
Bernard Pyron
The Dot Com Culture is something different from the technology of computers
and the Internet. Its a mind set, a mentality, and the Remnant has
not done much teaching of its members about the dark, deceptive and predatory
mentality found within the Dot Com Culture.
The somewhat dark side of the Dot Com Culture also generates spam which
clutters up E Mail. And now what is called search engine link spam is
cluttering
up parts of the search engines like Google.
Link spam tends to be made up of unrelated key words - individual
names, phrases,
etc - in a link text whose purpose is not to help searchers find
information, but
to manipulate the Google ranking system in order to obtain better page
rank on the
search engines.
Here is an example of link spam which does not lead to a porn site:
pillow in atllanta xqzqpjqhpwarpfwireo zongshenmotor com www …the
great rebellion by bernard pyron phd · blade knight · northwestairline
reservations · the movie willow · westwindinn com · pirates of the

The spam link above inserts “the great rebellion by bernard pyron phd” into
the text, such that the entire text is nonsense. The book identifies me.
Who Is says qscqka914lh1py9jfypf.blogwords.info belongs to this web host:
IP Address: 66.232.124.99
IP Location: United States
Registrant Contact Information:
Name: Garcia Vega
Address 1: 2300 High St.
City: Boca Raton
State: FL
Zip: 33431
At this point, very few people search my name on the search engines.
But if the free blog administrators will leave my Christian articles on the
blogs, in time more may find my name associated with links to search
topics like “dispensationalism,
the abomination of desolation, false Christian theology, etc.” I don’t want spam
porno links on the search engine pages with legitimate links to my name.
Many searchers would not understand I had nothing to do with my name
in the porno links.
Another link spam leads to a porno site:

I took out the link which leads to a hardcore porno site. This one is on Google
as of May 17, 2007.
Another spam porno link that inserts my name is: “gay asain porn, gay
mexican porn - freee gay porn”
IPNetInfo said this one was
hosted by NOC4Hosts in Florida and a host in Russia.
Still another spam porn link with my name in it was on Google: “6 way
paragraph, napa senior parks - deskjet932c cartridges.”
This one is deceptive since it first leads to a site supposedly selling
deskjet cartridges and then redirects to the same porn site.
Who Is, a program that tells you the name and usually the location of the
web host for a domain name, says of the spam porno link, “6 way
paragraph, napa senior parks…” that:
“1 81.211.64.20 Russian Federation SOVINTEL-RBC-NET Moscow
Russia 81.211.64.0 81.211.64.127 Yes Pochta.ru NOC Media
World, 84/32,
Profsoyuznaya, Moscow, Russia, 117482 noc@… abuse@… +7

It appears that the first spam porn link above that is still on Google
belongs to
pochta.ru.
Google has a page where one can complain about spam. I reproduced the
three spam porno links that insert my name and book and asked Google to
remove them. The one spam porno link above is still on Google. Google
supposedly uses algorythms to identify and remove spam, but their
algorythm robots don’t seem to work very well. The address to complain to
Google about spam links is: http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html
After finding my name and the name of a 1985 book of mine inserted in
what are called spam links found on Google, Alltheweb and Altavista, I started
E Mailing the web hosts who were involved in this spam.
Finally, a web host in Sweden said this in regard to my spam link problem
“That information is from this incident:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AOL_search_data_scandal
In July of 2006 AOL released to the Internet search engine history
information on the searches
of about 650,000 users. This search information contains key words
used in searches and information the search engine “cookies” picked up
from the hard
drives of people’s computers. Some say this data includes passwords,
credit card numbers and other personal information for some users,
The address above includes links you can use to
find out if your name or other identifiers can be found in the
released AOL data. I
typed in my name and the name of the book that appears in so many spam links.
Bingo, my name and book name are in the AOL data.
Spammers went to this AOL data and took what they thought were hot key words
used in searches and put these “key words” in their spam links and
flooded Google
and some other search engines with this junk.
In September of 2006 attorney Berman DeValerio and others filed a class
action lawsuit against AOL in federal court at Oakland, California
because of the release of the search history data. There are many Internet
articles about this 2006 lawsuit against AOL, such as http://www.imnewswatch.com/archives/2006/09/aol_members_sue.html?visitFrom=1
But I have not been able to find anything about the outcome of this class
action lawsuit. Was there a verdict in a jury trial, or did the attorneys
settle it with AOL out of court? The case number is C-06-5866.
The Dot Com Culture
I John 2: 15 says “Love not the world, neither the things that are in
the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in
him.”
James 4: 4 “…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoevere therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
The Dot Com Culture is not only a big part of the world, but it has within it
the spirit of antichrist. You might ask, What else is new? For the whole world
has the spirit of antichrist, and the Dot Com Culture is part of the
world system.
But the Remnant has not taught its members about the mentality within the
Dot Com Culture.
Deception is rampant in the Dot Com Culture, with bait and switch tactics
all over the place. Only in the irrational world of the Dot Com
Culture can a download be
advertised as being free and at the same time costing $40. And we
have seen with some of the spam porno links
that deceptively some spam texts don’t hint the link leads to a porno site
and by a redirect it does lead there unexpectedly.
I have Randy Maugans’ most recent Threshing Floor broadcast about deception on
this computer and have listened to part of it. Its highly relevant to
the problem
of deception in the Dot Com Culture. Randy’s May 16, 2007 broadcast,
called “Deceivers,” is archived at http://threshingfloor.onevoicemm.net/weblog/?m=200705
There is also an influence upon the Dot Comers from the irrationalist
world view or culture, especially from the New Age Occult movement.
I have noticed over and over that the Dot Comers have a language problem.
They use language in an ambiguous way which can create confusion. Few
Dot Comers who create software can use language clearly and in explicit
ways to tell users how to operate it. This language problem probably
relates to the Dot Com problem with cognitive clarity. They don’t have too much
discernment, ability to think critically or clearly and be able to remember
key items and call them out of memory at the right time. The release of
the search history data by the AOL researchers is an example of a cognitive
deficiency in the Dot Com Culture. They should have know better, but
they live in
a world of ambiguity, confusion and sometimes outright obfuscation.
In addition, there is a criminal side to the Dot Com Culture. On
http://redtape.msnbc.com/2007/04/whos_behind_cri.html
they say of organized crime rings within the Dot Com Culture that
“The top gangs, most agree, are in Russia, Eastern Europe and Brazil,
although there also are a few up-and-coming cybercrime syndicates in
Asia.”
What they are talking about is botnets which hijack individual computers
and use large numbers of computers to send out spam.
The site above goes on to say that “Some say there are as many as
45,000 different botnets sending out
spam and being used for other cybercrimes, but Professor Randy Vaughn
of Baylor University said he believes there are as few as six or seven
major bot gangs and as few as 1,000 criminals controlling all the
infected computers…
Bot herders aren’t necessarily spammers, but the two are often linked,
as virtually all spam is now sent from hijacked computers, experts
say…
Botnets are indeed a textbook example of a “force multiplier” — one
computer, telling 100 other computers, telling 10,000 others computers
to attack someone or something.”
A few weeks ago right after I had sent E Mail to some web hosts involved in the
spam link scam with my name in their texts asking them to remove the links,
Zone Alarm reported attempted intrusions to this computer. I traced down the
intruders by the IP addresses given by Zone Alarm and many were blacklisted
web hosts. I am not sure if they were trying to hijack this computer or send
me a virus or trojan. I had dealt with the dark side of the Dot Com Culture.
Many Christians make use of the Internet, including using the search engines
and some even get into the server end of the Dot Com Culture, without
teaching a critical discernment of the spiritual indicators within the Internet
and its culture. There is clearly a dark side to the Internet and to the whole
Dot Com Culture. Pornography is a big part of this dark side but so is
spam of all types. And there is a spirit of antichrist within this
culture
which manifests itself in a bias against the Bible and Christians.
To some extent the Internet is run from the top, that is, by huge corporations like
Google, Yahoo and others. Yet, at the same time, it is possible now
for a minority of Internet writers who do not have celebrity status to have some
influence. For example, the 911 Truth Movement, and other issues that the
Establishment media will not deal with honestly have been written about on the Internet by a minority
for a number of years. And so, the Internet became a media where more truth on 911
can be found than in the controlled media. This is why many of us want the Internet to remain as it is now.
But still, we need some way to keep the porno spammers from invading our blogs
and search engine pages, and in the process casting some doubt upon our credibility to some who do not understand spam and its purposes.
If you can write something longer than two or three sentences as byte speech and if you
post to Christian Yahoo Groups, you could write for the blogs, many of which will put
links to your writing on Google and a few other search engines.
The Internet could become a place where more truth can be found about Scripture than
in the present day churches.
On http://www.google.com/Top/Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Weblogs/Hosts/
there is a long list of blogs, with many being free.
